The Band
Koun is an ensemble mastering both classic folk instruments and the inseparable bombard and biniou koz. The uillean pipes and violin are new additions but in keeping with the esprit of Breton musical tradition. The guitar gives the melodies new force and beauty. For the latest album, Koun's founder musicians, Alain Léon, Pascal Martin & Dominique Trichet are joined by Pierrick Tardivel, Philippe Janvier who took Josick Allot's place and Véronique Bourjot. This masterpiece brings a new diversity to the band with the singing of Véronique and Philippe and Pierrick's double bass.

Using an open-tuning style for 20 years now, Alain Léon has always thought he was playing pipes when playing guitar. He also participated in «Kerden», an album dedicted to guitar featuring 15 of the best guitar players from Brittany.
