But it will really take off as an Alan Stivell accompanist. Together with Alan, he will develop his fingerstyle and his knowledge of Breton music.    After 10 years together, Dan ends his 'Alan Stivell' years by joining the famous British band 'Fairport Convention' in 1976. Then come multiple tours mainly across England and the United States.    In 1977, Dan records his first solo L.P., Douar nevez, keeps playing with Fairport and joins Gilles Servat on tour. A year after comes out Allez Dire à La Ville, his second solo L.P. where he combines his musical compositions to Xavier Grall's writings. For his next album, The Earth Lament, he surrounds himself with Patrick Molard and Michel Santangeli.    During the 80's, he'll produce four more records : 'Accoustic' (1981), Musique Pour les Silences à Venir (1985), Septembre Bleu (1988) and Songs (1990).    A year after comes out Borders of Salt, in which the tune entitled the same will become an anthem perfomed by The Heritage of the Celts. Surrounding him in this recording are Martin Allcock, bass and keyboards player who already took part in Songs and Patrick Molard who didn't collaborate with Dan since The Earth Lament.    In 1992, Dan had a very busy year with three new albums thrown in. Islands of Memories, a kind of outcome as he rerecords different tunes played in the previous albums (he's joined there by a young musician full of promises : Ronan Le Bars), Dan Ar Braz chante Xavier Grall, where he puts into music Xavier Grall's poems, and finally Rêve de Siam, original soundtrack from Olivier Bourbeillon's film.    1993 is a very important year as it launches the Heritage of the Celts adventure even if it only started as a unique concert, a closing-ceremony of the 70th 'Festival de Cornouaille' where performed such musicians as Donal Lunny, Patrick Molard, the Bagad Kemper... This show was so amazing that they were weighed down very soon by the audience asking for an album. Jakez Bernard, producer of the show will then take bets and build one of the greatest Breton show ever imagined. The same year, Dan will also produce a duo album together with Patrick Molard (Themes for the green Lands), a meeting point between guitar and pipes.    The Heritage of the Celts will have a studio and a 'live' recording. From the first to the latest version, this show always improves, specially with Finisterres in which features the 'Diwanit bugale' song. This anthem was originaly written by Gweltaz Ar Fur and put into music by Dan Ar Braz to support the Breton language schools (Diwan). With this song, Dan represents France during the 'Eurovision contest' in 1996.    In October 1998 is recorded the latest Heritage of the Celts, a double C.D. recorded live during the Zenith concert in Paris. No need to hold forth about it, the better is to present the different musicians taking part to this mythical concert : Karen Matheson, Elaine Morgan, Gilles Servat, Carlos Nunez, Donal Lunny, Noel Bridgeman, Nollaig Casey, Ray Fean, Ronan Le Bars, Gilles Le Bigot, Ronnie O'Flynn, Jacques Pellen, Nicolas Quemener Donald Shaw, John Mc Sherry, Bagad Kemper.    The latest years, for Dan as for thousands of Breton living in Paris, was marked by huge concerts. The first step was at the end of the 20th Century, in Bercy-Paris, with the 'Bretagnes' concert. The audience witnessed the union, for one night, of Dan Ar Braz, together with Gilles Servat, Armens, Tri Yann and overall Alan Stivell with whom he began his career tens of years ago. The next steps came in march 2002 and march 2003 at the 'Stade de France' with the Nuit celtique, two unbelievable concerts as crowdy as major soccer events (available on CD, DVD or video tape).    With La Mémoire des Volets blancs, Dan returns to his roots and his love for guitar playing. The result is a soft and beautiful album with a beautiful sound.    His latest album, À toi et ceux, was recorded during Autumn 2003 at the Windmill Lane Studios / Dublin. Many people (Irish, Breton, French, Welsh...) joined him to make a wonderful work. Well balanced between instrumental tunes and beautiful songs, and also between traditional influences ('Dan's Fisel', a new version of the excellent 'Orgies nocturnes' first recorded in 1977, ...), modern ('Les Tribus de Cornouaille', ...), songs in French co-written by one of the leading figures of the musical French scene : Jean-Jacques Goldman ('Je m'en vais demain' & 'Pas d'un pas').
