ARZ NEVEZ
This is one of the best Y2K albums. It's not the first time that a string band plays Breton traditional tunes. Archetype did it many years ago. But the difference between the two is that while the musicians in Archetype were confirmed traditional fiddlers, the members of Arz Nevez come from the classical music as they all are first prizes of the Conservatoire of Music.
The idea of such a band came to Yves Ribis, founder and former member of
'Glaz' who makes the arrangements for Arz Nevez.
This classical quatuor is composed by two violin players, Hélène Le Flecher-Kalonneg and Youenn Lorec, a viola player, Éric Lavarec and a cellist, Kristina Omnes.
