One of Brittany's advantages in tourism is undoubtedly the diversity of its traditional costumes and their appeal for the visitor. The number of festivals and folkloric fairs scattered throughout the summer months bear witness to this.
Paradoxically, however, the literature on the subject is truly scarce. With the exception of Creston's work, first published more than thirty years ago (1), there is no book that deals with Breton costume in general. Furthermore, Creston's publication is aimed more to the scholar than the holiday-maker.
You will have in this book a glimpse of the evolution of traditional Breton costume, from the early 19th century onwards.
